I have a Macbook Pro (early 2011) currently running Mountain Lion 10.8.4, and a Thunderbolt Display. Attached to the display is my external audio interface/control surface, the Tascam Fireone.

I am running into an annoyance: after taking my laptop with me outside of my home, I would dock it to the Thunderbolt Display to use its display for the laptop. Whenever I start Logic Pro, no matter what project I might have worked on previously, every time the application starts up this way, immediately after the last saved project opens I would get this error...

I would then have to delete "Logic Control" from the control surface Preferences, then readd it. I can usually do it, though sometimes it may crash Logic when I attempt to remove it. I would even, before deleting, do the rescan, per the last sentence in the above dialog box, but then the dialog box would reappear.

Needless to say, this is a bit of a pain. I do have two MIDI devices: the AXIOM 49, attached to the Thunderbolt Display's USB port, and the audio interface, attached to the Display via Firewire.

This has been bugging me, and I kinda put up with it. But surely, there's gotta be a solution whereby I can detach my laptop to take it on the road. By the way, whenever I'm away from my workstation (in a cafe, for instance) and open Logic, I would get a message telling me that the control surface attached to the project could not be found, and I'd click the Continue button. But it stands to reason that when I get home and attach my laptop to the Display, that it should find the Tascam (it usually finds the audio; I use it as my default sound device when I'm at home). But again, opening Logic once I dock the laptop seems to have lost "Control."

Any suggestions to put this issue to rest would surely be appreciated; thanks a lot!
