I get a message every 20 seconds saying 'Mac OS X needs to repair your Library to run applications. Type your password to allow this.' My mac is only 1 week old, any ideas what to do?

The problem started yesterday when I connected an iPad to import an iMovie project. Since then, the message pops up every 20 seconds after I have entered my password. There is also something wrong with Key Chain Access but again I don't know what this is as I am new to using a mac.

Up until I connected the iPad, I hadn't had a problem. My iCloud is also not working, neither is iMessage. Basically none of the applications are working for me anymore.

MacBook Pro, This mac is only 1 week old.
