Aug 28, 2013 12:32 PM in response to BDAquaby tonypesa,I have file sharing and printer sharing checked. Yeah, i saw the other pannels for shared folders and users, i wasnt really sure how these worked, or what to do with them. And, i think need to correct myself, my G4 is running Panther, i forgot which os number that was.

You need to add the Panther User to the list, then what you want Panther user to see.

Aug 29, 2013 12:04 PM in response to BDAquaby tonypesa,ok, i have added all of the folders i would like to share in the Shared Folders column. when you say add the panther user to the Users column, do you mean the name of the user account or the name of the computer? It is a very generic process, it is not asking me for an IP address just a name.
Then what do i need to do to get Leopard to see the other computers on my network, currently it doesn't see any of them?

Aug 30, 2013 12:14 PM in response to BDAquaby tonypesa,Ah ha!, ok some progress, the G4 is now able to connect to the G5 and i am able to access everything just fine. Now, the only problem is the G5 still doesnt see anything on the network, not the G4 (even with the G4 connected) or the printer, when i go to the network tab in finder, it says it is empty. I am wondering if i am just missing a setting somewhere. When i was still running Tiger on this machine it connected fine, now that i have up graded to Leopard, i see nothing on my home network, yet the Internet works just fine.

Is File Shating enabled on the G4?
Find the IP of the G4 in Sys Prefs>Network>TCP/IP tab on the G4, then on the G5...
Go menu>Connect to Servers..., type in afp://ip.of.another.computer, like...
afp://10.0.1.5
afp://192.168.1.3
