Q: All of the sudden the apple TV is gone. I can get movies and all the other icons, but no apple TV!!

When I Turn on my Apple TV, the Television Icon is gone.  I have the Movie icon, Netflex, Hula, etc, etc, but absolutely NO television shows.  I wanted to watch Breaking Bad and some other Television show I have already purchased, but there is NO Televison Icon.  How can I restore it?  How can I watch my television shows??

    Welcome to the Apple Community.

     

    There appears to be a large increase in this type of problem at this time, it seems that that there is a problem at Apple's end, but I couldn't at all be sure.

     

    There are no issues being reported at Apple’s System Status page, but this status may yet be updated and it may be you need to try again a little later.

     

    This isn't affecting me here in the UK, where exactly are you.

     

    So far I have noted users in the following locations having similar problems:

     

    • USA (including US accounts used in other locations)

     

    If this is a problem at Apple’s end, it rarely happens, however when it does only Apple can fix it. When this has occurred previously it has usually been resolved in a few hours or slightly more.

    I'm in the UK as well.  We were watching television shows yesterday and then today when we put our TV on the Apple mode, the Television ICON was gone.  All the other icons are there.  My husband got on itunes and the television shows are there, but they are not showing on our apple tv.

     

    I really appreciate you taking the time to help. Hopefully Apple will get it sorted. It has never happened before.

    For what it's worth, I now see that a few users are reporting that the TV shows icon is returning of its own accord.

     

    Whilst TV shows and indeed all of the feeds here in the UK to my Apple TV's and indeed my other iOS devices have all been fine, I was myself having a similar issue with the iTunes store in iTunes on my Mac, this now has also been resolved.

     

    I haven't seen any other users from the UK report being affected, are you using a UK account or a US account.

    Hey, it's back!!! I guess it was just an Apple gliche.
