Q: Forced Apple ID security questions for App store - why?

So why now when I login to go through to the App Store I am faced with a forced "ENTER ADDITIONAL SECURITY QUESTIONS NOW in case my apple ID becomes insecure and needs to be restored" with NO option to OPT OUT of the update.

It would suggest that Apple has experienced issues and cannot keep my ID secure then !!!!! ????

So IMPOSED forced updates are the way to go? Well I can tell you now, I will NOT be giving any additonal information as you already have enough of mine to restore this account and since I cannot get past this situation of forced information I can no longer purchase any apps from your store.

Did you think about how many users that will effect when you imposed the worldwide update?

Apple, are you getting it yet?

Stop trying to p*ss your global users off with non opt out forced updates.

You already keep changeing your App store terms every 2 minutes which I am forced to accept and am totally fed up with doing. Thats called NAG, NAG, NAG, NAG annoying isnt it?

Let see if your brave enough to post this message and how many complaints have you already had?

Yours sincerely

A totally fed up customer, I am off to android where I will not be pestered every 2 minutes.

I just tried after i saw your post - but no go.  There is no option to answer "not now".  No way around them on my iPad or PC.

Why would you get that message if you already set up your three security questions anyway?  Or did you not do it?

I was helping someone else set up their new iPhone when I saw that, it was 9 days ago to be exact. Odd.

Stevejobsfan0123 seems like youre too busy trolling. They took this option away.

It is odd.  Like I said, i had that option for a while, but they took it away.

Then they suggested downloading from my PC and just syncing the iPad.  That worked for a while too, then they took that option away.  It sounds like other people may still have the option, and I've seen some on these board with other issues that I have not.  It seems that Apple just keeps screwing around with it.

Someone used Social Engineering techniques to bypass this stupid question scheme and take controll of a Gizmodo employees iCloud account. They wiped his iPhone, iPad, MacBook Air and did some more damage:

This is ridiculous. I can't answer any of these forced new security questions. Favourite sports teams, city where parents met etc.. This is really only suitable for an American audience who care and remember things like their 'First motorised vehicle' etc.

Is there anyway to circumvent this? If I set something up I'm bound to forget my answers as they're not relevant or memorable things for me.

Had an apple id  since I started using iTunes. Just bought iPad and got a few apps from store before this extra 'security' nonsense appeared. This is unnecessary and annoying. Is anyone from apple listening? If so, please get rid of it! And, to anyone who complains about 'rants' on a forum - surely that's one of the reasons for fora? If complaint = rant, rant on everyone!

There is never justification for ranting.   The problem is, the system encourages it.

Any complaint that is made has to go via feedback for which the complainant gets no answer, and therefore feels ignored.   Perhaps we should have a forum section specifically for complaints and maybe a count of some kind per subject.   Whatever: we should have something more than we currently have.

I know, you have to laugh.   I wrote SNOW PU**Y the other day and it censored it. So as it was still within the edit time I wrote again ... SNOW PU55Y ... and bingo, it was accepted.   Where there's a will, there's a way.

The customer support are great but they can't help as you need to contact a separate bunch of people

Like you apple is going to lose my custom

Why don't they ask if we want this and if we say no we just use the password
