Aug 31, 2013 2:55 PM in response to sbermanby dfontaine4,This did not solve my problem. Thank you though. I have iTunes 11, which does not have the panes on the side, and my iPad doesn't even show up anywhere. I can charge it via the USB, but it won't show up to sync. I put it back on my old MacBook Pro, and it syncs like a charm.

Sep 3, 2013 8:58 PM in response to dfontaine4by dfontaine4,So I fixed my problem, and all the replies did help in some way, again, thank you all. The solution to my problem was, believe it or not, something very simple. 1st, connected to original Mac, stopes the wifi sync to that computer. 2nd, follow backup instructions to new computer. ( note, with iTunes 11, you really don't need the left side pane, there are buttons right on the summery tab of the device). 3rd, and most important, on your new Mac, you need to give it a name. So, in System Preferences>Sharing, put a name up there in the top space (if you don't already have one). 4th, in Summery tab of device in iTunes, check the Sync over Wifi.
It all worked after that, and stoped syncing to my old computer.
