Sep 3, 2013 9:36 PM in response to JP Redtopiaby mende1,The first kit comes with 4 GB of memory and the second one comes with 8 GB of memory. The maximum memory that the Late 2008 Aluminum MacBook supports are 8 GB, so there won't be any problem if you use the MacBook Pro memory onto your wife's MacBook, as both use the same memory. Also, Apple doesn't specify the cache of the memory for the Late 2008 Aluminum MacBook

Sep 3, 2013 9:43 PM in response to mende1by JP Redtopia,I thought the max for the 2008 Aluminum MacBook was 4 GB. Am I wrong?
The modules I took out of my MacBook Pro were 2GB each, so I basically have a 4GB kit ready to go, but with 512MB cache instead of the 256MB cache. Seems like it should work...
I'm basically just wondering if I could mess anything up if I put in the modules with a 512MB cache.
