iMatch hangs during upload from Macbook to iPhone.

After much research online, I am thoroughly stumped and look to you, hivemind.


I have a Macbook Pro with the latest OS, as well as the latest version of iTunes.  I'm also working with an iPhone 4S, which has been running the latest update for that OS, and everything's been pretty smooth until recently.  I had, once I recently picked up the Macbook, purchased the iTunes Match and retrieved the files I wanted; I'd also created a couple of playlists and syncing from the Macbook to the iPhone was not an issue whatsoever.


That has since changed.  No purchased music, despite having all settings correct, "matches" between devices.  To illustrate most recently, purchased music on the Macbook has not shown up on the iPhone; the one song I bought via the iPhone (through iTunes, natch) didn't show up on the phone, but DID show up in my iTunes on the Macbook!


I looked around online and, finding what seemed like a logical solution, deleted my music library from the iPhone.  I rebooted it, and set it up to resync with iMatch.  This has resulted in no music whatsoever, and the most I get is the cloud icon with the staus bar roughly 2/5ths orange, hanging.  After waiting overnight to see if I'd get my tuneage back this morning, I ended up with nothing.


I really don't know what to do.  I opted to go back to Match after my torrid love affair with Spotify, reason being that I wouldn't need to stream my music (although Spotify's library is obviously more robust than anyone's potential 25000 songs).  Now I'm seriously questioning my actions and thinking I ought to give up.  Thoughts/suggestions?


OH!  Note that this is not an uploading issue -- I have a fully functioning library in the Cloud that I know exists, and initially did not have a problem accessing it.
