Q: imported 5 cds from my collection to itunes on my pc

but the albums are not showing up on my iphone or ipad - what am i doing wrong ??

 

please help

    The 'automatic downloads' only applies to content that you buy from the iTunes store e.g. if it's 'on' for music on your iPad and you buy an album on your computer's iTunes then it will automatically download on your iPad as well as on your computer.

     

    To get those albums onto your iPad and iPhone you will need to sync them.

     

    e.g. if you have iTunes 11 on your computer then you can enable the left-hand sidebar via option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC. Then connect your iPad (and do File > Devices > Transfer Purchases to copy any iTunes downloads from it over to your computer's iTunes) and select it on the left-hand sidebar, and on the right-hand side select the Music tab and select and sync those albums over to the iPad's Music app. And similarly for your iPhone.

     

    Syncing music : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1351 (though that page refers to iPods, it's basically the same for iPads and iPhones as well.)
