Q: URL path missing from Smart Search Bar after Re-installing Safari
I am getting a similar problem to this forum entry after I I deleted Safari with AppZapper, cleared caches with Onyx and reinstalled. No there is no info on the address bar unless I click it! The user fixed it by updating Xcode. I don't use Xcode, but willing to download it and give it a try.
Any thoughts on this?

You deleted Safari? The only way to reinstall Safari on a Mac running v10.8 is to restore OS X using OS X Recovery
Third party cache cleaning utilties such as Onyx can cause problems on your Mac.
