Q: How do I upload word documents to ipad using Pages without having to sync the ipad?

I have the pages app and I've been using it to upload Word documents from my PC to my iPad by syncing.  I've now created an iCloud account and have no trouble uploading pictures, which I can "drag" to the iCloud program.  One discussion said to also drag documents in the same manner after accessing your iCloud account.  However, after I am in my iCloud account on my PC, there is no way to get to any document to drag it anywhere.  If it is possible to upload documents from a PC to an iPad using iCloud (without syncing the device) can someone explain how to do it?  Thank you.

    Hey kitcat13,

Great question. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like iWork for iCloud Beta and Documents in the Cloud is what you are looking for. For information, see these articles:

Upload documents from a Mac or Windows computer to iCloud iWork

You can upload documents to iCloud iWork after editing or creating them on your Windows computer or your Mac with OS X v10.7.5 or later.

    1. In iCloud iWork, click the button for the type of document you wish to upload: Keynote for presentations, Pages for word processing, or Numbers for spreadsheets.

If necessary, select the folder that contains the document.

    2. Do one of the following:

              - Drag one or more documents from the desktop to the iCloud iWork window.

              - Choose Upload document type from the Action pop-up menu , select one or more documents, then click Choose.

              - The amount of data being uploaded and the estimated time remaining for the upload is displayed in the Uploading Document window.

              - Documents you upload from your computer initially have generic icons in iCloud iWork. After you open a document on your iOS device or Mac with OS X v10.8 or later, the document’s icon is updated in iCloud iWork.

    Thanks,

    Matt M.

Just to help: On windows, it isn't called "choose", it's called "open".

Hi matt00.  Thanks, that was perfect!  I didn't recognize the symbol that opened the action menu containing Upload.  Works great.  Thanks again,

Hello again.  I'm sorry the "checkmark" for solved my problem ended up in the post by Sam Katz.  I meant if in reply to your response.  I'm not sure how that works...seemed to automatically go to the second response.  Anyway, your response solved my problem!  Thanks again.
