I use Pages (2009). After installation on my Macbook pro (retina Display)Os X 10.8.4, no cursor appears on a blank document for entering text. I reinstalled the software. Purchased another copy and installed. Called the tollfree number and was assigned case no 500580716 . That was the end of it. My problem is not resolved yet.

MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4)

    Hi phanieptri,

    What template are you using?

Pages > Menu > File > New From Template Chooser > Word Processing or Page Layout

If you choose a blank Word Processing template, type away to your heart's content.

If you choose a Page Layout template (Blank Canvas) it will open a new document with nothing at all on the canvas. You must insert a Text Box or a Shape to contain your typing. Think of this as a mimic for a drawing app. (you insert objects on to a blank canvas).

    Regards,

    Ian.
