Hi All;

   I have a new-to-me iPad 2 that I wiped and restored from my iPhone backup.  When I set up my Google Exchange account with the exact settings as the iPhone everything seems fine, the emails show up in the Notification Center, but don't show up in either the Mail app or the Gmail app - both apps are empty of emails.  The Mail app reports "Cannot Get Mail - The connection to the server has been lost." and the Gmail app reports nothing and is empty of emails. None of the calendar entries show up where they should either.

One clear problem - when I set up the account as an Exchange account all connections report to be fine and the check marks appear correctly but when examining the account after setting it up there is no Mail Folders to Push selection under the Mail Days to Sync selection like there is on the iPhone settings for the account on the iPad - it's just not there!  It appears that the iPad is setting up the Exchange account correctly but not finding the inbox correctly?

I've deleted the Exchange account and recreated it many times with the same result and I even backed up and restored the iPad from scratch this morning with no joy.  I'm thinking that this problem might be the result of using the iPhone backup to restore an iPad but I'd like to avoid the obvious next step of restoring the iPad as new and the laborious effort it will take to recreate all the settings and folders, etc.

Anyone have any ideas?  TIA

iPad 2, iOS 6.1.4
