In theory, iTunes can chug through 69 Gigs of music and add them to the library. In reality, it often bombs in the middle with no explanation of what problem it encountered and with no indication of what was or wasn't added.
Add the items in smaller increments.

Juniper, is it possible that the files are incompatible with iTunes due to their format, or corruption? What happens when you take one of the non-addable song files, right-click, and choose Open With > iTunes?
