I've had this issue too. I found that if you hold down the select button (the big one in the middle) on the remote, you'll get a menu at the top of which is an "audio" button. If you navigate to it and select it, you'll probably see that "english surround" is selected. go down to just "english" and select that. This should take care of the problem, it does for me!

Ewicp's workaround does indeed work, but you're losing 5.1 AC3 audio. I believe you're instead choosing 2 CH stereo, which isn't good if you're trying to enjoy a movie in surround sound. I'd like to find out why the audio issue is happening in the first place.
