Q: MacPro to TV

I have connected my MacBookPro 15inch to an external display (1080p Samsung TV) through a MiniDisplayPort to HDMI adapter (with audio support) -everything is working fine, except that there is no audio from the TV, the audio is still coming from the Mac's speakers. Please help. Thanks

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.8), iPhone 5, iPod Touch 4, iPad Mini

MiniDisplay port can be ONLY used to send video signal  - NOT video and audio. If you want to have sound played through TV you will need to use another cable connected from audio port on your MBP to audio port on your TV.

HDMI to HDMI will send video + audio - that's the only way to get that done through only 1 cable.

If your model is appearing on the list of supported devices, try hold ALT button and click on the speaker button from the top panel. Check if any other devices is appearing on the list.

Thank you but as the product said it supports audio, I guess I will have to visit the product website. Thanks for directing me to the right support page
