    Think they fixed it!

Woke up this morning and suddenly i had mail. I just happened to re-enter my account yesterday and just saved it thinking i would try it again a some point. So re-add your account and wait 12 hours. My partner re-did his and it started working right away.

From another poster this is  a yahoo response:

Some customers are unable to access their Yahoo! Mail account on a mobile device because of an "Invalid ID and Password" error.

To resolve this issue, you will need to remove your account entirely from the mobile device. Wait twelve hours before adding the account to the device again. Note: If you do not wait twelve hours, this issue will not be resolved.

I got a new iPhone and transferred all data etc but was unable to access email.  Same error message.  I followed the instructions, deleted the account , opened it on laptop, but when I was setting it up again on the new phone, I was able to use my existing password and WOW!  The emails came flooding in!  Thanks!  I can go to bed now!

Same problem here.  Have deleted account (it's a ymail.com account, managed by Yahoo) from iPhone 5, changed pwd from computer and re-added.  Success.  I did not wait the 12 hours as suggested above, it was only about 5 minutes delay.  By the way, interestingly enough, I got an email from Yahoo last week that my account had been accessed by a mobile phone in Colombia and if that wasn't me they suggested changing my password.  It didn't look as if the account had been hacked or phished but I changed the pwd anyway.

I didn't wait 12 hours and it still worked by deleting account from iPhone, changing pwd online from my computer, then readding account to iPhone.

Thanks.  My email contacts were hacked.  I was advised to change my Yahoo password.  I did so but I kept getting the error message on my iPhone.  I tried this technique and it worked the first time!

Hi, I deleted the email accounts from my phone as advised above. Itstill didn't work but then I redid my password to a shorter password and it worked like a charm. I am up and running on iphone and ipad. So I am wondering if that might not have something to do with it. I had a very long password.

    Here's a fix that's worked for me.

Double-tap your home button to bring up your last-opened apps.

Touch and hold the mail icon until it goes wobbly.

Click on the minus sign. The app disappears (dont worry, it's still there).

Then reset your iPhone by pressing and holding the top and home buttons together for 15 seconds.

Once it restarts your mail will be fine.

    You're welcome.

Thank you, this heped me. However you have to delete the particular mail ID from all your iOS equpments, such as iPad, iPhone etc.. and create new.

None of these have helped me. I've tried everything. Think I should just go into an Apple store?
