Had this problem too. Under settings, make sure your date and time is on "set automatically". I did this and it fixed it

Thanks for your post! I was going crazy all day trying to figure out why I couldn't connect to FaceTime and iMessage. And all I had to do was to set the day and time to automatic!!! How stupid is that?? Thanks again

But now the time is off by 3 hours because the time zone won't set. Any ideas?

Finally a fix that works. I have an iPad mini and it kept skipping back to the sign in screen after it tried to verify my apple ID. That was in both the settings/FaceTime and the FaceTime app itself.

I've had my iPad for 3mths and cud never get FaceTime or I message to work....I can't believe it was as simple as changing the setting on the date and time!!!!!!!!!!
