Which model AirPort Extreme do you have, and which version of OS X is installed on your iMac?

    John,

We have the Airport Extreme Model A1408 (0x14E4, 0x87) and are running version 10.6.8

    It's a Airport Extreme 5th generation

Thanks. Reset your network by powering down all your network equipment, including the modem, the Extreme, and all the devices on your wireless network. Give it a moment or two, then power them back up again. Make sure you connect to your own wireless network and not some other.

Confirm performed the "hard reset" correctly. If you're still not able to connect do it again: Make sure the Extreme is powered up, then press and hold its tiny reset button and keep it depressed for five to ten seconds, long enough for its LED to flash amber rapidly. Release the reset button. Then, the LED will glow amber steadily for about a minute. Then, it will flash amber, slowly, about once every second or two, waiting for you to configure it with AirPort Utility.

I went through and powered everything down, the gateway and extreme.  I still do not have access to my extreme networks, but the network on the gateway works.  I can see my extreme networks, but no connection, which is really strange.  i'll keep troubleshoothing this and hopefully can figure out what changed due to the firmware upgrade.
