Q: Speed Problems

Hello,

I am currently recieving 60mb broardband from Virgin media but my Macbook pro (2008 model i think) can only connect with a download speed of 27mb at a push.

Does anybody know a reason and possible a resolution to this problem please?

Cheers

Is the 27 Mbps with your MacBook connected to the router using a wired Ethernet connection?

It's not i'm affraid, the Ethernet socket on the laptop doesn't seen to be picking it up.

I forgot to mention that I tried a speed test on my wives laptop, wirelessly and that could get speeds up to 60MB/s. It does seem to be a problem with the laptop.

    Any ideas?

If your laptop does not get a reading of close to 50-60 Mb/s.....not MB/s.... when you test it in the same location as your wife's laptop, I would agree that the laptop may have a problem.

You might want to take the MacBook to an Apple Store....if you have one near you.....to let them take a look and verify.
