Q: How can I remove individual facebook events from my calendar on my iPhone with iOS6?

I have successfully integrated my Facebook calender with the calendar on my iPhone with iOS6, but I would like to be able to remove individual events from the calendar on my iPhone so it's less cluttered. I have tried declining the invite on facebook, but it makes no difference. I also don't want to simply un-sync events.

Any ideas?

iPhone 4, iOS 6

Hello, I have had the same issue, the Facebook intergration with ioOS displays all the facebook events in the calendar - which can be a real pain if you have lots of events.

I have not found any option in iOS6 to filter by accepted events or to hide declined events. This is something Apple should really work on - sounds to me like they just bundled this into iOS6 without consideration for accepted or declined events.

So the workaround which I have found is to stop the facebook calendar in iOS6 (Settings/Facebook) and instead to subscribe to Facebook events and/or birthdays via the site straight into iCal. What is in your iCal will appear on all your devices so there you go. Make sure in FB to state that you don't want al events to be displayed. Then you'll be fine.

Use this link if you want http://www.wikihow.com/Sync-Facebook-Events-to-iCal

Make sure to go to the settings option on FB page to select which events you want displayed.

It lacks the neat little FB icon that would appear via the iOS intergration but lets hope Apple sorts this out quickly and that we'll be able to chose which events to display, accepted or rejected etc....

    Hope this helps,

Thanks so much for the response. This is a good alternative for now until iOS gets it sorted.

I found another workaround. On top of rejecting the event,  you must delete the events on Facebook's website and it won't appear on your iPhone's  calendar.

Akmal, go to Settings>Facebook, and turn on "Calendar" below "Allow these apps to use your account"

Turn off the calendar option in Settings>Facebook, open iCal (so the calendar "clears"), and then turn the calendar option back on. All declined events are removed.

Sometimes even doing this won't remove the event from my iCal. iOS really needs to work on this, because I have events I DO want on my iCal (that I've accepted), but the only way to get rid of the declined/deleted events cluttering up my iCal is to turn off the FB events calendar, which I don't want.

Thank you. This solution worked very well. Note: you have to do it on a computer browser not an iOS browser.
