Q: Downgrade iCloud options

I want to downgrade my iCloud plan to the free 5G, but the Mac OS System Preferences window does not allow me to click Done on that choice.

iCloud, Mac OS X 10.7.5

    ah! When I click Account Summary in the Mac OS iCloud System Preferences, the message is "You will be downgraded to the free storage plan when your 20 GB plan ends on 9/30/13."

     

    So it should be automatic.

     

    Perhaps Apple could put that message on the "Downgrade" panel too to avoid confusion.

    Yours is a special case because you were evidently a MobileMe subscriber and had the complimentary 20GB until September 30th. That case is covered here:

    For other people it's more straightforward. You can't cancel the free storage because it's already been cancelled: as you say, if you do nothing you will go to the free 5GB at the end of the month. If you wanted to pay to maintain the storage level that page tells you how to do this.
