    Where did you buy Aperture?

Easiest, if you bought it from the Mac App Store there is no serial number, you just need to use the same Apple ID when you download it to the new computer that you used when you bought it.

Less easy, if your old system is still running you can start Aperture and get the serial number from the About Aperture window.

If it isn;t running the serial number was included on the box or envelope the DVD was packaged in, or possibly the install pamphlet.

If you downloaded the trial version and updated to a paid copy the serial number will be in the email Apple set you at the time.

Finally you can go to Pro Application Replacement Serial Numbers for instructions on how to get a new serial number,

Note if the version of 3 you have is an update you will need the original serial numbers also.

    regards

Well where did you buy Aperture from? That's what counts.

So Aperture is on the MB, does Aperture run? If it runs you can do as I wrote above, open Aperture and look at the About Aperture window. The serial number will be listed there.

If when Aperture starts it asks you for a serial number then you will need to contact the seller to get the serial number.

If Aperture is running but when you look at the About Aperture window there is no serial number listed then Aperture was bought from the Mac App Store.

While apps bought the old way on DVD or via the Apple Online Store can be transferred from one user to another, apps bought from the MAS are not transferable so you will need to purchase a copy for your own use.
