I have been working on date changes on old photos I have scanned into iphoto. Often the date I enter is not the date I get after I enter it. If I reenter it then it is what I want. Any suggestions on why I have to do this twice?

For scanned photos that do not have EXIF data included use the batch change time/date command checking modify the origina.

And if you want feedback re what you are doing wrong it really helpes if you tell us what you have and what you are doing = there are many versions of iPhoto and of the OS and several different ways to modify dates - without details we can not even guess what you are doing incorrectly or if you are running inot a bug

I get the same response when trying to reset the date to 1920.  It goes to 1945 first and then to 1920 the second time.  Send a report to Apple via http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphoto.html.

The cutoff date for going back in one attempt is 1945.  Any dates before that require two attempts.

I am using iPhoto 11 version 9.2.3 on a Macbook Pro with OS X 10.6.8 Some of the photos I am scanning in are over 100 years old. I use the adjust date and time under Photos. When I change the year to 1920 for instance it changes to 1942 then I can repeat the change and it will stay at the 1920 I want on the photo. I did not want to do the batch change because they are not all the same age. Thanks for your help.

And as I suggested rather than use the "adjust time and date command" use the Batch change time and date command" - have you tried my suggestion?

For scanned photos that do not have EXIF data included use the batch change time/date command checking modify the original.

In the past that has done better on p[hotos with no EXIF data and for old photos

Otherwise you may need to change the dates in small increments until you get them right
