Well, a 2GHz CPU with 1.5GB RAM is pretty small for Windoes 7. It might work OK for Windows XP, but that has such a short support life span remaining it's hard to recommend it to anyone now.
If you setup that old Mac with BootCamp, so it is a dual boot system, and not using virtualization, it will run ust like an older PC running Windows. It will be a bit slow, but it should work for basic PC stuff. If you are willing to spend a little money on it, you should be abel to buy a couple of 2GB RAM sticks for under $100, and that would give you a pretty good boost in performance.

I'm sorry, it looks like your older machine may have a max limit of 2.0GB RAM. I was jsut checking http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/memory/MacBook/Pro/DDR2/ and they seem to offer 2x1GB (matched pair) for about $28 USD + shipping. I do believe that they will ship to the UK if you don't have a local vendor.
Considering the max RAM being 2.0GB, and you already having 1.5GB, it might not be worth much to upgrade the RAM. That is a bit of a tough call. Without upgrading the RAM, the machine should still work for runnign BootCamp, and it should still perform about as well as a comparable PC Running WIndows...
