Q: Accidentally deleted the dictionary coming with my iMac. How can i restore it? Really need help.

I deleted the dictionary coming with my imac by Cleanmymac...Any one know how to restore it? I couldnt find any updated related solution for OSX Moutain Lion. Please help. I dont have a install dvd.

iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5)

Reinstall Mountain Lion from your recovery partition (hold command + R at boot). You're user data will not be tampered with, it will just reinstall system files and applications. Get rid of cleanmymac, it ruins your mac. Uninstall it according to the developer's instructions.

Hey Nbar

Thanks for your help. I will try reinstalling when i get home.
However, is the function of holding command + R at boot same as holding option at boot? I tried holding option at boot last night and I saw the recovery partition.

Yes, you can use either method to boot to the recovery partition.

If CleanMyMac let you delete the OS X dictionary application, you should get rid of CleanMyMac. What a piece of garbage.
