Sep 17, 2013 1:28 AM in response to Russell Liby nbar,★HelpfulReinstall Mountain Lion from your recovery partition (hold command + R at boot). You're user data will not be tampered with, it will just reinstall system files and applications. Get rid of cleanmymac, it ruins your mac. Uninstall it according to the developer's instructions.

Thanks for your help. I will try reinstalling when i get home.
However, is the function of holding command + R at boot same as holding option at boot? I tried holding option at boot last night and I saw the recovery partition.

Sep 17, 2013 10:43 AM in response to Russell Liby William Lloyd,★HelpfulYes, you can use either method to boot to the recovery partition.
If CleanMyMac let you delete the OS X dictionary application, you should get rid of CleanMyMac. What a piece of garbage.
