My 5th Gen is working great, so I am hesistant to upgrade when 'nothings broken', but please let us know how things go. Especially when you hit about day 5.

Looks like I wasn't the only one out there with this an iPhone 5 issue connectivity issue! despite what the Apple customer service techs made it look like, seems like this is not an isolated issue! They said it's very very rare and almost unheard of at the apple store! apparently NOT!

I have been through 2 iPhone 5s so far and as a three year iPhone user and a 7 year apple user, I will not go back for another! not just because the WiFi keeps intermittently going on and off and most of the time only works with a few refresh clicks and it almost doesn't work properly at all on some video streaming sites which I usually watch my music videos, but rather because they insulted my interlligence in technology as a user and made me feel like I was the only one out there with this issue and that I should rearrange my network to fix this issue (which took me 3 days to do and to no avail). INstead of denying these issues and being too secretive about them, they should admit and resolve.

I am moving to an up to date Andriod model and I'm sure despite having their issues they admit all their issues and instead of denying them, they resolve and progress! I guess that is why they have managed to overtake a tech giant like apple in a matter of few years and from ZERO!

I have also been having this same issue. I spoke with support today and believe the problem has been solved. unfortuantely, I didn't completely understand the answer but we changed from Bridge mode to Double NAT. Good luck

So has anyone taken the plunge with 7.6.4?

I am having this exact same problem and have for about a month.  I had an original iPhone 5 that I bought on release day which worked fine until June 2013.  At that point, the Lightning connector stopped working and it wouldn't charge or sync.  I brought it into the Apple Store and they swapped it out on the spot for what I assume was a refurbished iPhone 5.  The replacement worked fine until about August.  I noticed it wouldn't connect to my home or gym wifi networks anymore and when it did, the service was spotty.  I called into Apple on September 4 and they required I pay $19 to open a support ticket.  I brought it into the Apple Store and of course it worked fine on their network.  The Apple guy said that I needed to switch my home network from WPA to WEP. I tried that and I had the exact same problems. I also bought a new Airport Extreme router and am having the same issues.  My AT&T cell plan is now throttled because I've gone over the 5GB monthly limit since wifi doesn't work.  I just got back from the Apple store and since they gave me the refurbished phone in June, it's out of its 90 day warranty.  They offered to let me buy another refurbished iPhone 5 for $280, to give me $100 for my iPhone and I could buy a 5s or just leave.  An iPhone 5s would currently cost me $549. I left.  This is ridiculous.  The Apple Store gave me a defective phone in June and now I basically have an iPhone that won't work on wifi.  This was the most frustrating experience I've ever had with Apple.  Any advice???

I had the same issue and installed 7.6.4. Read my experiences here.

I had the same issue using a Linksys E4200 wireless router.  My iPhone 5worked fine for nearly a year and then I added another wireless device to my network (a TV) and after that my phone could never sustain a reliable wireless connection.  I tried a number of different router configurations to address the problem but nothing worked.  Finally, I tried giving my phone a static IP address instead of using DHCP.  After making this change my phone has been connecting flawlessly.  I will update this thread if the problem returns, but I thought I would share in case it helps someone else.

To do this I simply copied the wifi settings from the DHCP tab to the Static tab after selecting my wireless network in Settings.  I kept everything the same but assigned myself an IP that was outside the range that my router uses for DHCP.  In my case, my router had 50 IPs from 168.192.1.1 - 168.192.1.50.  I gave my phone 168.192.1.51.  You may need to login to your router to see what IPs would be available. I hope this might help someone else...

    All:

Apple has FINALLY released firmware update 7.7.2 is for AirPort Extreme and AirPort Time Capsule base stations with 802.11ac.

The update resolves an issue that may intermittently cause a loss in WAN connectivity, and resolves an issue that may result in a network loop.

I am hopeful that this will correct the behavior posted in this thread.

You can read more here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1708

Be sure to update directly using the Airport Utility on your Mac or iOS device.
