Sep 18, 2013 11:40 PM in response to Cokelogicby Al Hartman,Apple needs to fix this RIGHT AWAY!
I now have hundreds of old podcasts I have previously downloaded and listened to showing on my list, and I can't delete them.
I used to be able to delete podcasts I didn't want to download.
Why do companies always remove functionality for no good reason?

Sep 19, 2013 12:03 AM in response to Al Hartmanby timwinchester,I agree. I've just registered a support communities account to seek advice about this. Its really annoying. I can't see my podcasts on a single screen (or at most one and half screens) any more.. Hope they fix this soon or someone can find out how these can be deleted.

Sep 19, 2013 6:58 AM in response to Cokelogicby fremont_guy,I am finding this annoying too. For now to avoid that scrolling for ever, I am using the My Podcasts view. The view that they messed up is the List View.

Sep 19, 2013 7:26 AM in response to Cokelogicby ksingernc,This is really terrible. If you download a podcast with the cloud next to it, you can then delete it, but I can't possibly download hundreds of previously deleted podcasts just to get rid of them. And I don't want to delete of all of the old podcasts. Some, like podcasts from NPR's Tiny Desktop Concerts, I want to save. Someone didn't think this through. It needs to get fixed soon.

Sep 19, 2013 8:37 AM in response to Cokelogicby FrustratedPodcast,OS: Windows 7
I'm also having this problem. It's extremely frustrating and a simple fix.
It almost seems like Apple is trying to force users into one of the other podcast viewing options for downloaded episodes. But those options have uncessary graphics and groupings. I don't need that, I want a simple clean list with full control.
Possible causes: a) a bug from from the stream online function; b) a bug from the mobile podcast app, where a swipe has to be used to delete each podcast, downloaded or not; c) Apple is planning to reduce all podcasts offerings to recent episodes only.

Sep 19, 2013 10:34 AM in response to Al Hartmanby Al Hartman,Today, I listened to three podcasts. When I deleted them after listening to them, as normal... they returned as undownloaded podcasts.
Now, even deleting podcasts you just listed to doesn't work.
How do I go back to the previous version?

Sep 19, 2013 10:34 PM in response to Cokelogicby jbromusic,i just updated my iTunes today in order to update my iPhone and am having this same problem with deleting my podcasts. right now, it's hard to tell which podcasts i actually have downloaded on my computer and which ones are available to download. it's a HORRIBLE design flaw and seems like it would be a very easy fix. let's hope the people at apple resolve this issue quickly because it's very annoying and unneccesary

Sep 19, 2013 10:39 PM in response to Al Hartmanby gail from maine,There is no fix needed Al,
You just need to go to View>Hide Music in the Cloud. If you ever want to be able to see all of your music, go to View>Show Music in the Cloud....
It is that simple and quick...

Sep 19, 2013 10:41 PM in response to ksingerncby gail from maine,Deleting them would not help you with the way you currently have your View setting set.
Right now, if you go to View, you will see Hide Music in the Cloud. If you were to download these podcasts and then delete them, they just go back into the Cloud (not iCloud - iTunes in the Cloud), and display with the little cloud next to them again.
All you need to do is to click on Hide Music in the Cloud, and all the little "cloud" items will disappear....
Cheers,
GB

Sep 19, 2013 11:12 PM in response to gail from maineby jbromusic,i'm looking at my iTunes now and your dropdown menu is different than mine. do you have the latest version of iTunes?
-
Sep 19, 2013 11:14 PM in response to gail from maineby gail from maine,Also, if you do leave them there you can double-click on any item in the Cloud and it will play from the Cloud without downloading to your computer.
So, you have ultimate flexibiity. You don't have to go to a special link in the iTunes Store to see your Music purchases anymore. You if you want to re-download something, you can simply click on the View Music in the Cloud option, and select the songs you want to re-download, then turn off the View Music in the Cloud option all on one screen and with a couple of clicks. Much easier!
Cheers,
GB
