I have a Mac Pro 3,1 running OS X 10.8.5. Recently I installed a new NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 Mac graphic card and more ram (now 18 gigs) so I can run DaVinci Resolve.  Part of the set up requirements include booting up in 64 bit kernel mode.

Mac paper: describes the sudo command to accomplish this.  My playback is still slow so I'm trying to eliminate possible causes.

How do I check to see if I'm now in 64 bit kernel mode?  Thanks.

Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)
