Hi all, I had a similar problem on my ipad mini after upgrading to iOS 7. It would let me sign into iMessage but not FaceTime. I don't know if this is just a coincidence but I logged in to my Apple ID account through icloud on my iMac. I set the region to London (where I'm from) and checked a few things while I was logged in. I then signed out and went back to my ipad and hey presto it let me sign in to FaceTime. Of course it could just be that Apple have got round to fixing it. Good luck sorting yours out.

What I done and it worked for me so simple. I was having the problem 'Waiting for activation'

    > Plug your iPhone in

    > Go to iTunes.

    > Go to the summary page
    > Tick this computer then go to back up now.
    > Once done, to make sure your phone has backed up properly go to the top left thing and a drop down menu appears click preferences, then devices and it should come up with your iphone device and a time stamp.
    > Go back to the summary page click restore back up (it will most likely ask for you to turn off find my iphone, do that) then click restore back up again.
    > Wait for it to do its thing, your phone is fully back to how it works but with imessage enabled through your phone number and not through your apple ID

If this doesnt work, simply be patient. It will work eventually, if you're not patient enough, keep trying to do this. If it worked for me, it will work for others.

    Weeman:

Don't have a problem with my iPhone (4S) after ungrade to iOS 7, but my iPad 4 gives me the same "Could not sign in. Please check you network connection and try again." message.  My phone was updated via iTunes, while the iPad was done as a "direct" download.  Any thoughts?

Try doing a factory reset but back it up on your computer before doing so

I'm, no wiz kid but it might help. I stole my idea from someone else in another forum so I put it here to help others. Sorry

I was having the same problem from the time I downloaded yesterday until this afternoon. I had tried everything I read about trying to fix it. I got it to work by plugging my phone into my computer and backing it. From there go to settings-general-reset-erase all content and settings and then restore the phone from backup. Worked for me!

I tried everything suggested in this thread, and the only thing that solved the problem for me was "reset and erase all content and settings" as @Woolfman describes.

Good thought, however, it didn't fix the problem for me.

I am at work, so I can't simply plug into a computer and reset the phone.  It is a minor impact problem for me, but something I wish could be fixed without an entire re-install.

Sorry - Sim re-boot didn't work for me. Just trying to do this without the re-install. Keep on keeping on.  At least my iPhone is working.

This is happening to me as well! I try signing in and it keeps giving me the error that I can't activate and I should check my network connection?

There's nothing wrong with my connection because I just used my phone to browse the web to test if it was fine??

    What's going on!
