Q: The (parallax) motion doesn't work. I got an iPhone 5

Recover your iPhone in iTunes and make sure you back-up all essential stuff like photo's etc. then try again else your motion sensor(s) are maybe broken.

hmmm... weird but there are multiple sensors and maybe there is only 1 broken or defective.

Im having the same problem on my iphone 5 as well compass doesnt work parallax doesnt either, going to try to restore to see if that helps if not sensor problem most likely.

I'm having the exact same problem.  iPhone5.  No parallax.  Did restoring the phone fix it?

The update also did bust my compass. 

Did a full restore nothing has changed. Just doesn't work. Works in my iPad not my iphone.

I have the 4S, and I'm told it should work on mine.  But I don't notice anything.  As well, I've seen videos that sample the parallax effect, and noticed that the background of the task bar and folders are translucent.  Mine are solid grey.  Looks pretty ugly.

I'm having this same issue. The parallax effect is not working on my iPhone 5. I've confirmed the reduce motion setting has been disabled. So that shouldn't affect it. Also, my compass and level are not responsive. The images I have seen of the level appear to be black and white. When I look at my level it's green. Does that matter? What's going on with these three items?

I held out updating to iOS 7 but finally caved yesterday and downloaded it along with the first of the predicted subsequent fix updates to 0.2. The parallax motion effect does not work on my iPhone 5 nor my ipad2. I would think it's a pretty cool effect, but alas.... can't see it on either device. (And yes, reduce motion is indeed turned off)

But that does not solve the parallax, compass and level issues.

What is going on?

I have the exact same issue - I have posted a question only this morning. I am reluctant to do a complete restore on my 5S but turning off on normally works and I can't keep doing that. I noticed though that it only stops working after I've made a call. It works intermittently though. 10 minutes ago it stopped working after I made a call. Just checked it now and it's working again?! My compass appears to be working (it also goes green when level but don't know if this i normal or not as I never use the compass anyway).

Wonder what could be causing it especially on the newer phones?

I have the SAME problem.  I have an Iphone 5.  Upgraded to IO7, everything was fine.   Then a few days later, Paralax doesn't work, compas doesn't work, etc.

I think the update killed one of the motion sensors, or at least conflicts with it.  I've done a restore, and reset, but doesn't help.

I'm going to apple or verizon soon...

I went to the apple store and they replaced my 5 with a new 5. All the issues I was having with parallax, level, camera focusing, and compass were all tied to the same component that had been damaged.

Thanks to Apple care I showed them what my phone refused to do and they replaced it within 20 min. If you're having the same issue and you're still under warranty, I suggest you go to get a replacement. Just make sure you save your pics and sync. I did and had no problem getting my phone back in order.
