What type of data gets stored on iCloud?

    Everything you see in Settings>iCloud on your iPad (mail, contacts, calendars, reminders, safari bookmarks, notes, documents & data from apps that use iCloud), plus your iCloud backup if you choose to back up to iCloud.

    Not unless the app is specifically enabled for iCloud data syncing (most apps aren't).  iCloud is not really designed to store app data; it's designed to keep it in sync across your different devices.  Some game apps, for example, sync their game progress data with iCloud so you can play the same game on different devices and they would all pick up the game where you left off, regardless of the device you were using.  Apps that do this generally advertise this as a feature.  You could check with the app developer for the translation app to find out if it syncs data with iCloud or not.
