Q: Transfering from one devise to another, can it be done even 6 years after the fact?

I used to have an old school iPod back in 2007. In fact apple still recognizes the old screen name and know that I have a new one with the same email. How do I access everything I bought back then and put it on my iPad 2.  If anyone has a clue please let me know. I just switch from android to Apple and I think I might be stupid.

When you say "old screen name," is that your Apple ID?  If so, and you can sign in to the iTunes Store in iTunes using that Apple ID and password, you can re-download (most) previous purchases from the iTunes Store at no cost.

Sign in using that old Apple ID, if you are not already.  On the iTunes Store Home screen in iTunes, find and click Purchased under QUICK LINKS.  This takes you do the Purchased screen, where you can find and download previous purchases.

You can then sync those songs to the iPad, after they are downloaded to your computer's iTunes library.

NOTE:  If you are using the same Apple ID on your iPad, I believe you can also download previous purchases from the iPad at no cost, using the Music app.
