To my mind there are more failed updates than normal so maybe Apple have pulled the update temporarily to check.

Sep 22, 2013 12:07 AM in response to Alley_Catby tanghiem,well if the radio is all that is so big about the update, then i can wait. i have this old box sitting on my desk. i think it's called a radio and it workd fine. also, i'm not going to turn on my tv and apple tv just to listen to the radio.

Sep 22, 2013 8:19 AM in response to tanghiemby Russa,.. updating the SW is performed by doing a "Restore" thru the ATV Settings/Genreal/Restore menu... all the way at the bottom of the Settings/General menu.. do not select "Software Update".. select "Restore". Once you press restore the software update will start-up..

Your information is not correct. Due to the high number of upgrade failures, Apple most likely pulled the update from the servers. You do not upgrade the software by performing a full system restore.

Sep 22, 2013 11:42 AM in response to tanghiemby JJ drama,**** I did the full restore step, and it took like an hour for nothing. still the 5.3 version appears EVEN IT APPEARS TO BE UPDATE DTO THE LATEST SOFTWARE VERSION. Im confused. that ***** cause i dont remember my netflix password and im a mess now.
