What is the make & model of the printer you want your computer to print to? Is this printer wireless-enabled? That is, does it have a built-in wireless card so that it can connect to a wireless network? ... or will you be connecting this printer to the USB port on an Apple router (Express, Extreme, or Time Capsule)?

The printer is an hp 7280 and yes, it is wireless enabled. I have reset all settings and put in the password. When requesting a print from both my iMac and my laptop using Microsoft, it states that the printer is offline. Could it be the router? Not sure what to try next.

Ok, I am assuming that you have already configured the HP printer to connect to the wireless network provided by your wireless router. Also that you have installed the latest printer drivers from HP for this printer on your iMac. Finally, I am also assuming that you have properly configured your iMac (using System Preferences > Print & Scan) and that this specific printer is recognized by your iMac. If all of these are true, then printing from your iMac should work.

Note that the steps for the Windows PC will be different, but basically the same.

Since this is an issue for multiple network clients I do not believe the issue will be router related, but printer driver, or printer configuration.
