You can try this: Turn on Airplane Mode. Reboot the phone (hold power & home buttons at the same time till you see the Apple logo). Turn Airplane Mode off. There are lots of people with this problem after iOS6, so if that doesn't work, you could check the existing threads.

There must be some other item in common with those having problems. I have a 4s that was upgraded from iOS 6 to iOS7 and have had no WIFI or Bluetooth problems. It isn't the phone (unless something failed), but could be something installed on the phone.

That's because the forum rules state that surveys are prohibited.
I'm just suggesting that everybody take a good look at what is installed on their phone. Maybe remove all 3rd party apps (you can reinstall later) and reset the phone to see if the problems go away. At least that is a start. I think you will find that most people are not having problems.
Another suggestion would be to take the phone to your local Apple store (if you have one) and let them try to get it working for you.

I've restored mine to original factory settings, set up as a new phone . . . . . and no different
Apple say pay the service fee of £150
if you took your car into the dealership and they said there's an update for the engine do you want it, you're going to say yes, they do it and you drive away but the car won't do over 30mph and when you get back to the delaership they say sorry it's out of warranty! Idon't think you would accept that???

in any event it wasn't a survey, it was just a blog where people could comment!

Guys - there is no fix to this problem. Just got out of an Apple store genius bar appointment. iOS 7 kills the wifi/blutooth chip. hardware failure. If you're out of warranty or don't have apple care or can't upgrade your phone you are out of luck. They know it's a 4S problem only. You upgrade to iOS7 at own risk. Pretty big failure for apple.... IMHO

Same here, my 4s wifi greyed out after updating to ios 7. Went to apple genuis bar they are charging me £180 pound to change a new unit. Ridiculous, apple mistake or trick then charging the costumers for their mistake. I knew they will delete this because they are a few forums that they deleted to hide it.

Just replace the wi-fi chip. Inexpensive and it works. I tried all the homespun ideas and then a local technician replaced the chip. Job done. Why dont Apple tell you that?
