Is there any chance that you have your screen locked? Do you see the lock screen icon in the bar at the top of the screen?

No I don't see the lock screen icon at the top.

This happens only in the playlist of music videos. If I play the video in the verticle mode the image on the screen is only about an inch tall.

Apple have confirmed this is a loss in functionality in IO 7.
YOU CAN'T WATCH MUSIC VIDEOS IN FULL SCREEN WHEN USING MUSIC PLAYER....do you believe it!!!!
The video player plays the videos in full screen but you can't queue up the music...useless!!
All you can do is complain and hopefully they rectify it in the next update.

Wow! Absolutely speechless. I spent an hour and a half on chat with two different reps on Friday! I understand they have other bugs but this is the first time
Apple has really ticked me off. If it isn't a functionality lost ios7, this was a basic feature. If
How do you screw up a basic function just so we can see all of the album covers. That's an important feature I could care less about the album covers. I was basiCally told by the rep at apple to just deal with it.
I love being told that $500 dollars worth of videos can play one at a time and that in portrait mode they are an inch tall.
Deal with it! Totally ticked off at the developers! Then don't load the option of the playlist in the new iOS!

At least it only took you an hour and a half.....it took me 3 hours on chat until they confirmed it was working as it was designed.
All those music videos purchased through Apple cannot be viewed on an Apple device in full screen.....insane!!!!!

Will the videos play landscape if the type of video was changed to movie? It's been a while since I've done that - had to spend a lot of time figuring out the best arrangement for me. I like playing music videos and music in a list that will play each item only once and then drop off. Only way I found to get around shuffle that keeps playing the same items again and again. Can't even remember if we can do playlists for movies that way. My preference is to allow both orientations - depending on my situation I use both. But not to have landscape is a HUGE pain.

This is so disappointing! I would never have updated my iPhone 5 to iOS7 had I realized that I would lose the ability to view Music Video playlists in landscape mode! And the bright white area around the video makes it that much less acceptable... especially when 90% of the reason I have the iPhone is to view music videos when I'm on the treadmill at the gym. I was going to purchase the new iPhone 5S next month, and only upgraded my iPhone 5 so I could test out the new iOS first. I'll give Apple the benefit of the doubt to change this in the next couple of months, but otherwise the only solution I see is to ditch the iPhone and buy an Android phone.

Since I don't have the patience to wait for apple to fix this, I just got a free app(MaxPlayer) to organize my videos and watch in fullscreen (though the app's pretty minimalistic so its more of a temporary solution). It's not as good as thr music app but it's better than nothing.

Yes, I agree. I searched around the web for a while, and saw a recommendation for the app 'Run VT'. I downloaded it, and does allow me to create video playlists that are full-screen in landscape mode. Phew!

Apple changed the functionality in the music app and added the ability to view your music videos in the videos app. This works for both the iPad and iPhone and you can view in full screen. Also an additional note, if you try to airplay a music video from your music app it doesn't work. It does however work from the video app.
Hope this helps. :)

Thank you so much!
OK now for to just listen music I use iTunes, and when wishing to watch video, I am switching to video player on my iPhone. It is a solution, but Apple just had to mention this specificaly - realy it's not that obvious! I already thought that I am stupied...

Just use video player app from Apple.
Apparently Apple ment it that way, and it's OK. But they do had to mention that specifically, it is not that obvious.

Just watch your videos not from music but using video player app.
