Q: iWork syncing not working since iOS 7 install

Hi,

Since installing iOS 7 on my iPhone 5 and iPad mini, I've noticed that my iWork documents have stopped syncing across devices (those 2 mentioned and my MacBook Pro). This applies to all three iWork applications. On iOS, documents say they are updating, and I get the blue progress bar within folders and on specific documents, but the update never goes through. On the Mac and in the iWork application's iCloud folder, updated or new documents just say "Waiting" with a little cloud picture-- this is what I usually get when I don't have internet access.

Furthermore, I cannot access my documents from the iCloud.com website. If I log in and attempt to navigate to one of the iWork for iCloud programs, I just get sent back out to the icloud.com main menu screen and am asked to reenter my login info. I CAN access all other features of icloud.com without issue (Mail, Notes, Reminders, etc.), so this isn't a total iCloud problem.

I have tried restarting all devices. I have also tried turning off iCloud document syncing on both iOS devices, letting the items get deleted, and then turning it back on... all to no avail (haven't tried this on my Mac because I don't want to lose all the docs I have created or updated since the problem started).Accor

According to Apple's System Status page, Documents in iCloud is running without issue. Is anyone else having this problem? And are there any other potential solutions that I haven't thought of?

Thanks!

Kyle

I have same problem and cannot resolve it.  I also loaded iOS7 on my iPhone 5 and iPad4 recently.  Now no documents can sync to iCloud.  I can read the documents from iCloud but nothing will write to iCloud any more.  I often use my MacBook Pro to edit in my office and then use the Numbers documents in the field on my iPad and make small edits.  Now I can no longer work this way.  This must be some problem with iCloud itself.  My MacBook has no new software but also cannot write updates to iCloud now.  I guess we have to wait for Apple to figure out what they did wrong and correct the problem.

Yes, but seems that not all the people have this problem!

I had the problem for 4 days and it started working last night.  Hopefully they are rolling out the fix and it will get to all users soon.

Maybe it is the problem of icloud itself.

For those still having problems, the first thing I did was backup the Mobile Documents folder on my Mac Mini. Then I could recover and use my iWorks files on my Mac regardless what happens to iWorks, iCloud, iOS7, my iPhone or iPad. Last week I got no good advice from Apple.  After I backed up my Mobile Documents folder and files, I tried turning iCloud off and on in Settings - Pages on my iPhone. That did not work.

I DID NOT DELETE FILES FROM WITHIN PAGES IN THE IPHONE BECAUSE THAT WOULD DELETE THE FILES FROM ICLOUD AND EVERY DEVICE USING ICLOUD. THESE DELETED FILES CANNOT BE RECOVERED UNLESS YOU PREVIOUSLY BACKED THEM UP OUTSIDE OF THE MOBILE DOCUMENTS FOLDER.

I could always get at my iWorks files in iCloud on my Mac in the Mobile Documents folder - which I backed up. I just could not get these files to sync in Pages on my iPhone and iPad using iOS7. Yesterday afternoon, iCloud started working again on my iPhone and iPad and my Pages documents were synced. I did nothing. Apple fixed it from their end.  I can't tell if it is an iOS7, iCloud and/or iWorks problem.

Today I will create more Pages documents on my Mac and see if they update on my iPhone and iPad.

I'm now able to access my unsynced iCloud Pages docs from my Mac, but still can't sign in to the Cloud from iPad or iPhone.  Progress?? Maybe, but not enough so far.

Hi Rod glad you have got your iworks sorted - I installed IOS7 on all my devices ipad, macbook and iphone 5S on Friday and no syncing in works since then - I would be grateful if anyone can identify a simple way of sorting this - it would certainly be nice to think that the apple team were on with resolving it.

I actually installed iOS7 hoping that it would fix the problem!  But no luck.  Since I have the problem with iOS6, iOS7, the Mac, and iCloud using a web browser, I am sure this isn't specifically an iOS problem.  I am happy to see that multiple people are saying that the problem goes away.  I keep hoping that it will go away for me!

Okay, called Apple again, and basically, Apple Engineers are aware of the issue, and because it is server related issue, they don't know when it will be 100% fixed for everyone.

The only solution for now, is to sit tight, and wait. Yeah, not a good solution, but this is the only thing we can do at this point. Check the documents from time to time to see if it's started to sync again.

Basically, waiting is the only solution.
