You can change this in settings. If you go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, you can choose whether your Apple ID and phone number is set to receive messages on your device.

I have this same issue with mine and my husband's phone, but when I try to look at my settings, I can't see the Send & Receive addresses because it is grayed out, so is all settings for iCloud and FaceTime. So anything associated with an Apple ID. I am updating iTunes right now to see if I can fix my settings that way. Any ideas?
