Just upgraded to IOS 7 and and found out that calendar events don't display in the slide down events on my ipad 3 even though I have events scheduled for today, it states no events scheduled. Is this a glitch?

Try this first. Go to the settings, Notification center. On the right-hand side make sure the switch is on for the calendar day view in today view section. Then look down and the section called Include All. Scroll down until you find the calendar app. Pick that and you will go to another page. At the top of that page you will see Alert Style and under that you will see None, Banners, Alerts. Pick the style that you would prefer and pick the other selection below that you would prefer.

If you do not see calendar under the "Include All" then scroll further down the page into the section called "Do Not Include". If the calendar app is in this section pick the arrow next to it and then pick the alert style you want. This will cause the app to move into the Include All section. You must have the Today View set up properly and the app in the Include All section set up properly for the show in your notification screen.

Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings

This solved the issue for me.
