So I have done the reccommended things like turn off background app refreshing, auto updates of apps, even did the reduce motion of the parallax effect - and my battery life is the worst ever.  I went to bed last night @ 10:30pm with 55% battery life, and my phone failed to wake me up @ 5:30am because the battery was dead.

Anyone have any suggestions?  I made an appt with the Genius Bar for later today.  I am hoping it is just my battery thats defective - because most reviews I have seen say that battery life is better?  Not from what I am seeing.

I have the exact same issue. The battery life is just aweful, please let me know if they are able to fix anything. I just had my phone with me all day, fully charged in the morning, BARELY used it during the day, and my battery is at 25%... Where the **** are those 250 hrs on stand by?

Restore as new, without using a backup.  Note that if you're like everyone else with a new phone, you use it 2-3 times as much as your old phone, with 1/2 - 1/3 the charge life.

Thank you! Do you think that will probably fix that? What do you mean by 1/2-1/3 charge life?

Thanks for your help! What battery life should I expect from a normal ussage of the phone?

It means that if you're using the phone twice as much, the battery lasts half as long....  With any new device, you unconsciously use it more!

Define "normal usage."  It should last as long or longer than other iPhone models using it the same amount.

Also, should I restore the phone while it is fully charged or it doesn't really matter?

No reason for the phone to be fully charged when restoring.  It's plugged into your computer in order to restore.
