Q: Does syncing collections sync bookmarks?

With the Kindle app, I bookmark a book on my iPad, close it, and when later opening the book on my iPhone, it's magically bookmarked to the same page.  Is this the case with iBooks when one syncs collections?  If not, is there a way to do it?

The Settings > iBooks > Sync Bookmarks setting should do that.

The Sync Collections setting is for if you have the same PDF / epub / ibooks on your iPad and iPhone and you move it into a different collection on one device, then it will also be moved into the same collection on the other device.

Thank you.  I set my iPhone and iPad to Sync Bookmarks and Sync Collections.  I then repeatedly opened a book in each device, with no bookmark synchronization noted after various tries.  Is there a step needed to "seal" the bookmark? I tried closing the book by going back to the library after setting a bookmark, but that didn't make it stick.  Nothing seemed to work.  The bookmark sync is a huge plus with Kindle.  I was hoping to be able to use iBooks instead but...

I think that the last I did it I needed to close the book on the one device, and it would then sync that page on the book over to the other device.
