Why does the App Store tell me I have updates for programmes I haven't downloaded?

iPhone 5, iOS 6.1.4

Do you share an apple id with anyone?

I'm also having a similar problem. While I'm still on iOS 6.1.4 The App Store badges reports that I have, normally, three updates, but then when I go to do the update there's nothing there.

I'm a bit timid to do the iOS 7.x.x before this gets resolved as I don't one thing cascading into the other. (Although that might be pretty exciting...I think I can do without that sort of entertainment l,l,l)

    So what's up with this?

*addition...This is not happening on any one App, rather it happens all the time on any App update.

Can someone Please, Please, Please give us some information on this. (Yes it's not really a huge problem, but it's really annoying!)

This is addressed in several other threads on the forum.  Basically, iPhone is buggy in IOS 6.x, if there is an update for iOS-7-only for a certain app, it will continue to prompt you to install the update FOREVER, on the home screen, and then the alert will magically disappear in the app store, annoying you FOREVER, until you delete the app.  You can see these apps in iPhone > App Store > Updates > Purchased, look for apps that say "Update" but then fail with "iOS 7.0 required" when you try to install thenm.

Your only workaround is to delete these iOS 7.0-only apps or move to iOS 7.0! !

I'm not moving to iOS 7.0 because the fonts are horrid and you are forced to search with Bing!

    Not cool, apple.

    Not slick, apple.

    Thanks for promptly addressing this.

I guess I've been too centered on this thread to look at others dealing with this issue. Yes, I will take a look and see what Apps might be wanting iOS 7.x.x and delete those-good call. And yes on this (and other things) Apple has been unusually bad (or can I say seedy and get away with it? l,l,l) Ther lack of more complete debugging is proving costly to everyone, in both monetary terms and pulling hair out.

I've been hesitant to upgrade to iOS 7.x.x until they really get some (incuding this one) annoying bugs taken care of. Normally I don't do any upgrades until the software hits the x.1.0 version. It's selfish, I know, but I'd rather let others be the guinea pigs!
