Clingpeach, have a question for you, when you purchased 5s, was the receipt saying 'unlocked' as teniralch's receipt showing? I bought it online yesterday, but doesnt say unlocked on receipt as it's the case for most of others. thanks.

hi hamza, I didnt mean to imply I received the phone. I am still waiting of course, it says on october. however I was talking about the receipt apple sends right after the purchase. good luck by the way, if you are taking it to Turkey, can you let me know whether it's working there or not, it is really important for me. thanks

I am completely moving from US after getting my iPhone 5s. I will start using it in other country. Will it work fine out side US, if I remove the seal and put other country GSM SIM to activate and start using. Please clarify.....

This is weird, we are looking for some help under Apple Support Communities on Apple.com however, Apple staff does not help at all. We need some information which would be great if Apple would make our minds clear.. I called Apple Customer service and even they did not give a clear answer, once I called they said it is unlocked, just wantted make sure and called again, then they said T-mobile should know it (where they definetely dont), third time I called they said it is not unlocked.
So it looks like some of us are lucky to have iphone 5s working with ATT, however we really need to know whether it is the general case or not. As you go to Apple stores, they definetely tell you that it is not unlocked for the ones sold in stores (even though you buy it paying full price). But what is the difference between those and online store, and are they really unlocked just like iphone 5c 's are?? Apple Help us to figure it out please...

Good luck to you

It IS unlocked. I am using one right now on AT&T to post here. Apple does not sell any phones locked to T-Mobile USA.

If you are looking for help from Apple, this is not the place to look. This is a user to user support forum. No Apple here....
