Q: Macbook 5,1 power cord bulging, won't charge.

Can I get a new one? What model number? Do I have to go to the Apple store? I live pretty far away.

Not sure what you mean by power cord is bulging...

The Macbook5,1 uses a 60W adapter.

You can buy this on Amazon and have it shipped to you - no need to go to an Apple store.

This may not be what you need, but it is an example of what you find on Amazon. I searched for Macbook Power Adapter:

Do you live near a Best Buy? They carry them as well. Otherwise, you can always order one online

You can get a new third party 60W power adapter on eBay for under $20.
