Q: updated itunes and lost library

I have read some of the fixes but it doesn't work for me as I have no previous itunes libraries. All files show empty. I tried a recovery but it will not go through. I tried reloading the itunes program still nothing. I have / had about 100GB of music and I do have the music on a external hard drive (but I have hours invested in clean up, playlists etc,). The new comuter I have basically has nothing on it, I bought it pretty much for my music etc. It shows that about 250GB are used and about 300+GB available. So I think the music is on the computer but I sure cannot find it.

 

Help please!!

    The itunes files show everything modified 10/3/13. When I did the itunes update. I have no files that show any significant size (my library is about 100GB). My computer shows I have 250+GB used space. I don't want to reload my library from my external hard drive if my library is still on here. Can anyone tell me (Windows 8 which I am not crazy about and still learning) where I can check for the music file and replace itunes library???
