I'm new at this online chat stuff and I would appreciate any help anyone can give me.  I have just had to create a new apple id because I also had to start using a new email address as I screwed up my old one that I originally used to do all of my purchases from the itunes store.  Some of my songs in my library will not play and I'd like to know how to redownload them.  I talked to a support person on the phone and he told me to come to this site. Thanks for any help that anyone can give me!!!

Unfortunately content is forever tied to the Apple ID that bought it. Apple does not transfer content from one Apple Id to another. Apple does not merge Apple IDs. You will never be able to access your content bought with another Apple ID with a new Apple ID.

Rather than create a new Apple ID you should have changed the email address associated with the old Apple ID. Unfortunately, now that you have associated the new email with a new Apple ID it is too late to do that.

Would this work for in-app purchases?

I dunno if this is the spot for this question, but there isnt a section for Apple ID problems... anyway. I made my first apple ID with my College email about 8 years ago. As far as I know that email doesnt even exist anymore. I would like to access iCloud to be able to delete phone date remotely (my last iphone was stolen and I wish I could have used that function), but I cannot because I am unable to receive my verification email which was sent to that dead account. In the iCloud tab in my new iphone, there is a delete account option. Will this delete all my contacts? And will I be able to use my new Apple ID that I just set up with  my current Gmail account?

All you have to do is read the thread, or part of it, or check out 'More like this' to the right of the top of this page.   There's your answer.

Basically sinc all of your apps, music etc. and then make a new apple id and then write down the security questions somewher or put it in a document. Once you've made a new account put it on all of your i-devices and sync them all to regain all of your current memory.
