I understand that the whole "ecosystem" should be upgraded for "new" tech to work/integrate.  I just don't want any of it.

iTunes 11 has alot of ergonomics issues, not just the loss of coverflow.  It really is a kludge of an interface.

And I just don't like the look of iOS7.  Looks like sooner or later, Im jumping ship... but really the ship jumped out from under me.

Just wanted to direct people's attention to another long running thread about iTunes 11. This one is more generic and covers all facets of iTunes, not just coverflow:

    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4555356?start=1440&tstart=0

I think it's important to keep these threads going so that Apple will take notice, so try to post to both. The other thread is nearing 100 pages! You never know, that could be the magic number where an alert flashes on Tim Cook's iPhone.

If you keep deleting I'll just add it again and again. You will not deny me of my right to free speech.

The first amendment to the U.S. constitution prevents the government from limiting speech.

Pretty sure Apple or companies are not mentioned anywhere in the U.S. constitution.

Do you have your iTunes library on your computers internal HD? Mine is stored on an external and that may be the problem. It started to happen from iTunes 10.6 with Mountain Lion onwards...and before the finder was ok.

    Hey

I have read every post to this point but now am I'm signing off this discussion.

I really like CoverFlow it ... it is the most beautiful way to browse albums on both my desktop and on my phone.   I had upgraded to itunes 11 but then un-installed and downgraded to 10.7 again.

I also note that the iphone upgrade is irreversible, thankfull I haven't (and will not) upgrade.

I WILL NOT be updating my iphones OS as I want to keep coverflow.

My iPhone 4s will be my last apple phone.  My next phone WILL NOT BE A IPHONE... instead I'm moving to Samsung!    This will allow me to keep itunes 10.7 and coverflow as a standalone music player on my Desktop PC.

Apple has forced me into this decision... I am willing to give up on their €600 hardware to continue to use their (now out of date) itunes software with coverflow.   Who ever made this decision in Apple needs to be questioned as to their job suitablity  !

    Good bye Apple!

My iTunes 11 system, a MacBook Pro, has everythinig on the internal, although sometimes I plug externals into it and run iTunes off the external drives. My main iTunes 10.7 music system, a Mac Mini, now has the iTunes libraries (in addition to media) on an external. I had the libraries on the internal drive for over a year, but that made backing everything up more cumbersome, so I moved the iTunes folder over to the external and changed which folder iTunes started up with by holding down that Option key and choosing the external.

I can troubleshoot something for you, but I'm not sure what you'd like me to check.

Apple continues to underestimate the customers who are most passionate about their music collections. I keep saying don't come between people and their music -- you won't win that battle. Like GalwayFella and many others who have posted I don't really feel the need to move forward with Apple products at this point and have sent feedback saying as much. You might want to so the same:

LOL...I was this close to writing "where an alert flashes on Tim Cook's S4," but then I dialed it back. Should have gone with my gut.

Since the iPhone 5, i do not like the direction apple is heading in. iTunes now ***** 1 it wont play half of the video files, 2 it wont play half of the music files, 3 conversion takes forever and is not worthit, 4  lack of visuals (the iTunes visuals when playing music is just the wrost i have seen) i forone liked the visuals of itunes, and therefore have no use for itunes now as i cant make the alums bigger or access coverflow due to not being technical enough to download an older version

the iPhone 5s ***** yes gold wow a new colour, bigger screan? bigger MP camera? NFC? increased storage? maybe a red and blue version? Some standard things i think apple should have done. But didnt.

Again the new album view on the iOS7... could they get the covers any smaller???? Yes the younger generation may have better eye sight but its just too small im 19 and i cant see half the album covers!!! I reckon Tim Cook is a one inch wonder as the saying bigger is always better has clearlly not been said in his household...

    Folks,

is there any experience: Can I run iTunes 10.7 (with my beloved CoverFlow) using the latest OS X 10.8.5?

I wont't update any (and I mean really any) apple SW (applies also for Mavericks) without knowing about CoverFlow influence. Any experience out there?

    Kenan

So what we all need now is someone to back up their version of iTunes 10.7 so we can re-install it.

I'm wondering if it is possible to install it on the system under a different user login so I can update my phone etc on the new version and then use the proper version (10.7) for it's far greater usability and coverflow?

    Anyone know?
