Did you ever get this resolved? I have the same issue with Snow Leopard (v 10.6.8) and the new SW on my iphone 4S (ioS 7.0.1). I too do not use iCloud or Mobileme. I had no issues until I recently upgraded my iphone to the latest SW release.

I can't remember how, but it was solved. I now use Mountain Lion and iCloud for this so maybe this is what was needed. Still same iPhone 4S and MBP (2008). FYI putting a hybrid drive (8gb SS/750gb disk) made my ageing MBP young again....

Thanks. There is another thread that shares a solution that involves deleting ical Library cache files and Preference files. I"ll see if that works. ICloud shouldn't be a factor in my case since I don't use it and it's "off" in Preferences. I am encouraged that I don't need to use it to fix this issue based on other's experiences, but we'll see!
